Following the demise of the Works Sports table tennis section, we decided to present one of our trophies to the 'Sheffield Table Tennis league'.

The trophy is quite a striking one, depicting a table tennis display.

The trophy was first presented in 1935 by T F Day Esq of the LNER Co and the inaugural winners in 1936 was a team from the steel firm of Brown Bailey.

The last winners in 2002 were Wadsley Bridge.

Sheffield Table Tennis League Chairman Ian Folger & vice-chairman Robert Loxley receive the trophy from Works President Dennis Webb and the Works Table Tennis past-secretary Roy Smith.
